History
The R James Company story begins in Logan, Utah, and carries forward a long-standing respect for entrepreneurship, community, and service.
The R James Company was founded in the early 1960s by Ray James in Logan, Utah. Owning and building a business had been a lifelong goal, shaped by years of study, work, and mentorship across California, Utah, and Colorado.
Ray opened the business on Main Street. What began with a focus on shoes grew into a broader community presence and became part of family life, education, and service in Logan.
After Ray's passing in 1970, the business eventually closed, but the example he set continued to influence later generations. In 1980, Louis James began building companies of his own and later brought that experience into the corporate world.
Years later, after reflecting on the service that Ray and his mentors had given to their community, Louis returned to entrepreneurship and re-established R James Company as a tribute to that standard of care.
Today the company carries that legacy forward through consulting, technology support, and practical guidance for businesses that value trusted relationships.

Louis James leads R James Company with a background that combines corporate leadership, entrepreneurial experience, and a strong commitment to customer relationships.
Managing Director
Louis is responsible for sales, marketing, and business development. He brings more than three decades of experience in the computer hardware and software industry, including leadership roles in field sales, telesales, marketing, and product launch activities.
Before reestablishing R James Company, he held leadership positions with Century Software and Symantec Corporation, contributing to enterprise-focused growth and channel development.
Louis also founded and managed several international optical companies and previously operated Louis James and Associates, a manufacturer's representative firm serving data communications, software developers, systems integrators, and related resellers throughout the western United States.
That mix of entrepreneurial and corporate experience continues to shape the company's practical, service-minded approach today.
Executive Support & Operations Coordinator
ReyElle Tano is the Executive Support & Operations Coordinator at R James Company, where she plays a key role in supporting operational structure, administrative systems, and client communication. She contributes to the development and refinement of contracts, assists in organizing internal processes, and helps ensure efficient day-to-day operations.
She is actively involved in the company's portable charging initiatives, supporting outreach, product communication, and site onboarding. Her work includes coordinating and capturing video submissions required for approval, helping facilitate new placement opportunities and expansion efforts.
Known for her attention to detail and ability to execute across multiple areas, ReyElle supports both the operational foundation and forward growth of the company.
Veterans & Small Business
Shaun retired after a distinguished 21-year career in the military, with service spanning major operations from Desert Storm through Iraqi Freedom. In his final assignment, he managed the complex logistics and cataloging of equipment during retrograde operations. Beyond his tactical duties, Shaun has been a vital lifeline for his brothers in arms, providing dedicated peer counseling and crisis intervention for veterans navigating PTSD and mental health challenges.
Following his military service, Shaun transitioned into the commercial transport sector as a successful over-the-road (OTR) truck driver and fleet owner. Over a multi-million-mile career, he owned his own transport company and served as a contract operator for several major national retail brands. Continually expanding his skill set, Shaun is also a trained and certified networking supervisor, specializing in upgrading critical data and communications cabling for veteran hospitals across the country.
Operations Manager
Robby brings more than 20 years of diverse experience to the construction industry, specializing in everything from major civil infrastructure to commercial builds across the Mountain West. His extensive portfolio includes large-scale interstate road projects, bridges, and overpasses, as well as commercial foundations, convenience stores, and fuel stations.
A versatile leader, Robby also served as a route service manager and independent sales manager for a franchise operation. In this role, he was responsible for optimizing daily service routes, maintaining equipment, driving sales growth, and ensuring top-tier service delivery to homeowners. His strong operational foundation is backed by extensive experience in warehousing and logistics, where he managed shipping and receiving, forklift operations, trailer loading, and precise package sorting. Robby's unique blend of hands-on technical skill and management expertise makes him a valuable asset to any project.
